Mount Union (22-4, 7-1 OAC) won both games of a doubleheader at
Heidelberg (3-19, 0-6 OAC) on Friday, April 13 in Tiffin, Ohio. The
Raiders took the opener 3-0 then won the nightcap by a score of
12-3.
In game one, the Raiders got single runs in the first, second,
and sixth. RBI hits came from shortstop Carissa Prince and first
baseman Amanda Yackmack.
Lindsey Royer (17-3) was dominant, tossing a complete game,
allowing no walks and two hits while striking out 11. The 11
strikeouts tied a season-high.
Royer also led the Raider offense with a 3-for-4 performance at
the plate. Second baseman Katie Harmon aided the cause, going
2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.

In game two, Mount Union jumped out with eight runs over the
first three innings, then added two in the fourth and two in the
seventh.
Stephanie Cain (2-0) went the distance for the second time this
season and allowed only one earned run en route to picking up the
victory.
The Raiders got homers from Royer (2), leftfielder Erin Duignan
(3), and catcher Karly Tennant (4). Duignan finished the contest
3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Other offensive standouts included second baseman Lee Negrelli
(2-for-4/RBI), right fielder Meghan Allen (2-for-4/2 runs), third
baseman Anna Horning (2-for-4), centerfielder Cortney Frederick
(2-for-5/SB), and shortstop Carissa Prince (1-for-3/2 RBI).
