(ALLIANCE, OH)--Sophomore forward Deirdre Dick (Mansfield/Crestview) hit a shot from 25 yards out with 25 seconds left in regulation to give Mount Union College its first Ohio Athletic Conference victory of the season with 2-1 win over John Carroll University Tuesday at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.
Mount Union moves to 4-6-1 overall and 1-1 in the OAC, while John Carroll takes just its second loss of the season at 8-2-2 overall and 1-1 in the OAC.
The Blue Streaks took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Collen Harmon in the 19th minute.
The Purple Raiders would tie the match as freshman Alyssa Flitcraft (Alliance/Marlington) would take a feed from Dick and go over top the keeper for a goal in the 29th minute.
Mount Unon junior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Mallernee (Dover/Dover) did yeoman's work in goal as she posted 12 saves as John Carroll outshot the Raiders, 20-10.
Mount Union next travels to Ohio Northern University for an OAC match Saturday at 1 p.m. in Ada.
