(TIFFIN, OH)— Mount Union College's women's soccer team suffers 1-0 heartbreaking loss in double overtime at Heidelberg College in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Saturday in Tiffin, Ohio.
The Purple Raiders finish their season 4-14-1 overall and 1-8 in the OAC, while Heidelberg finish 5-11-3 overall and 1-7-1 in the OAC.
Heidelberg scored the winning goal in the 104th minute when sophomore Katelyn McBeath kicked it past Mount Union's junior goal keeper Kaitlyn Mallernee(Dover/Dover) on a penalty kick.
Mallernee kept the Purple Raiders in the game with nine saves. Mount Union's freshman Jennifer Sprandel (Akron/Green) had team-best three shots on goal.
