Conley was one of three Raiders in double figures
as senior Chris Switzer (Euclid/Stow-Munroe Falls) scored
20 along with 12 points from junior Sam King
(Masury/Brookfield).
Switzer hit a pair of free throws at the 12:29 mark of the first
half to give Mount Union a 20-6 lead to start the
contest.
Hiram (1-1) came back closing the gap to four points three
times before Switzer had a three-point play on a layup
and a free throw to give the Raiders a 44-37 lead at
the half.
Hiram would continue to rally in the second half and took its
first lead of the contest, 58-57 on a Jason
Hebeisen jumper with 9:15 remaining.
With the score tied at 60, Mount Union would go on a
decisive 10-2 run highlighted by Conley scoring six points during
the run.
Hiram would get it back to three points, 72-69 in the final 30
seconds before a pair of Switzer free throws put the game away.
Chris Roberts scored 18 points to lead Hiram.
