(DEFIANCE, OH)--Sophomore Deidre Dick (Mansfield/Crestview) scored two goals in a span of 3:19 but Mount Union College's women's soccer team had to settle for a 2-2 tie against Defiance College Sunday in Defiance, Ohio.
Defiance (0-1-1) started the scoring with a goal in the 23rd minute to lead 1-0, before Dick's barrage tied the game in the 37th minute and gave Mount Union (0-1-1) a 2-1 lead in 40th minute.
The Yellow Jackets tied the game in the 42nd minute and that 2-2 score lasted for next 68 minutes before the double overtime tie.
Junior Kaitlyn Mallernee (Dover/Dover) made five saves and played all 110 minutes in goal for the Purple Raiders.
Mount Union continues a four-game road stretch to start the season Saturday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. at The College of Wooster.
