Mount Union improves their overall record to 8-11, and even
their record in the OAC at 6-6. Senior Sam King
(Masury/Brookfield) also had 13 points, all of which were scored in
the first half.
Tyler White had 21 to lead Wilmington, 14-5 overall, that is now in
a tie for first place with John Carroll at 9-3 in the OAC.
The Purple Raiders travel to John Carroll next Wednesday (Feb. 3)
for an OAC game at 7:30 pm.
Wilmington out paced the Raiders early with its up tempo style as
they jumped out to a 15-8 lead. Mount Union would claw their
way back and take the lead on a 12-2 run capped off by a three
pointer from Ben Hodkinson (Tippecanoe/Harrsion Central) to put the
score at 36-29 with just under three minutes to play in the first
half.
The opportunistic Raiders squad would extend that lead to 41-34
heading into halftime.
Mount Union would keep Wilmington at arms length as the Quakers
would close the margin to three points twice the second half, the
last of which coming at the 4:19 mark. The Raiders would go
on a 10-3 run down the stretch and cruise to a 75-65 victory.
