COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's soccer team allowed four unanswered goals en route to dropping a 5-1 decision to Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Capital on Saturday.

Jackie Lowdermilk (Wadsworth/Wadsworth) scored the lone Purple Raider goal in the 55th minute, knotting the game at 1-all, before the Crusaders took command.

Natalie Fiorelli scored the go-ahead goal for Capital in the 58th minute. Crusader insurance goals were put in by Olivia Hein, Tara Zimmer and Hillary Ells in the 72nd, 75th and 79th minutes, respectively.

Samantha Shaffer also scored for the Crusaders, giving the hosts the game's first lead.

Mount Union goalkeeper Taryn Vespoint (Ravenna/Ravenna) weathered the Capital storm and finished with 12 saves.

Winning goalkeeper Maggie Donnelon stopped three shots for the Crusaders (9-5-4, 5-2-0).

Mount Union (3-10-4, 1-5-1) will return to action on Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. road match against Ohio Athletic Conference foe Muskingum.
