ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's softball team lost a pair of games to Capital, 4-3 and 11-1 in five innings in the regular season finale Wednesday at 23rd Street Field in Alliance.

The losses make the Purple Raiders 19-15 on the season and the No. 4 seed in OAC Tournament that starts Friday.  Mount Union will face top-seeded Ohio Northern at 1 pm in Ada.

Capital (23-15, 8-10 OAC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game one.

Mount Union got on the board in the second inning as Marissa Earl (Massillon/Massillon Washington) drove in a run on a triple to make it 3-1.

The Raiders then tied the game in the sixth when Brittany Papp (Uniontown/Green) had a two-out, two-RBI single.

Capital came right back in the seventh and scored what turned out to be the winning run on a solo home run to left field by Jessica Stoltz.  Stoltz finished with three hits and drove in three runs.

Shelby Carmichael (Dalton/Dalton) led Mount Union at the plate in the loss as she had three doubles.

In game two, Capital blasted out 11 runs on 10 hits in an 11-1 five inning victory.

Mount Union's lone run came as pitcher Bre Willis (Navarre/Fairless) tried to help her own cause as she hit her first home run of the season with a solo homer in the third.
