ADA, Ohio -- Mount Union rallied from a 5-0 deficit to tie the game but Baldwin-Wallace pulled out a 6-5 eight inning win Friday in the semifinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Tournament in Ada.

The Purple Raiders (20-16) will now face the winner of an elimination game between top two seeds Ohio Northern and John Carroll at 11 am Saturday in the consolation bracket final.

Katie Finley led off the eighth inning with a single then moved to second and third on wild pitches and scored on a fielding error to send Baldwin-Wallace (26-10) to Saturday's 1 pm championship game.

Finley and Ashley Elber each had three hits for the game as Elber hit a three-run home run in the second to give B-W then a 4-0 lead.  The Jackets extended the lead to 5-0 with an unearned run in the third.

Mount Union started its comeback in the fourth when Alex Mayo (Greenville/Ansonia) drove in a run on a double to make it 5-1.

The Raiders got two more runs back in the fifth on a home run from Kristen Gromes (Navarre/Fairless).

Another home run, a solo shot from Jill Rader (Ashland/Ashland) to lead off the sixth got Mount Union to within a run and Rader then tied the game in the seventh with two-out double.

Rader finished the game with three hits and drove in two runs.  Shelby Carmichael (Dalton/Dalton) also had two hits for the Raiders.

Justina Wise allowed only one run over the last three innings to pick up her second win of the tournament for B-W, while Rachel McAninch (West Jefferson/West Jefferson) took the loss in relief for Mount Union.
