WILMINGTON, Ohio—The Mount Union men's basketball team suffered another road defeat, this time to Wilmington, 75-61, Saturday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders (8-13, 4-10) trailed 13-5 in the opening minutes and were never able to fully recover. Wilmington was able to extend its lead to 35-22 going into halftime. The Quakers led by as many as 26 points in the second before the Raiders trimmed the deficit to its final margin of 14 points.

Junior guard Keith Williams (Louisville, Ky./Brown) was one of the bright spots for the Raiders. Williams scored a career-high 15 points to go along with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals in just 20 minutes of action off the bench. Senior forward Jimmy Wood (Wintersville/Indian Creek) contributed 14 points as the only other Raider in double-figures.

WIlmington (11-9, 9-5) used a balance scoring attack that saw five players reach double-figures. Malcolm Heard II, Antonio Bowman, and Brandon Candella led the way with 13 points apiece. R.J. Leppert added 11 points while Christian Patterson contributed 10 points for the Quakers.

After being road warriors the past five weeks, Mount Union returns home for three games, beginning with Marietta Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.
