Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team won its fourth straight after winning over Ohio Wesleyan Saturday afternoon, 17-6 at Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders (4-1) were led by freshman Susie Kraus (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) as she tallied six points on the day with two goals and four assists. Freshmen trio Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Kent Roosevelt), Emily Bergert (North Canton/Hoover) and Kolbie Haines (Hudson/Hudson) each tallied five points in the contest. Pensyl and Bergert both had three goals and two assists apiece as Haines scored four goals and had one assist.
The Battling Bishops (1-6) were led by senior duo Annie Swanson and Meredith Wholley who each tallied three points in the game. Swanson and Wholley both scored three goals apiece for Ohio Wesleyan.
Mount Union would go up three goals in the first six minutes of play before Ohio Wesleyan would answer with two goals to cut the lead to 3-2 with 20:58 remaining in the first half. Mount Union would go into the halftime break with a 12-4 lead over Ohio Wesleyan.
The Raiders opened the final half with four unanswered goals before Swanson would score for the Bishops in the second half. Mount Union would go onto the 17-6 victory outscoring the Bishops 5-2 in the final half.
Mount Union hosts Houghton (NY) Tuesday, March 26th at 5:00 pm in Mount Union Stadium.
