Box Score ALBION, Michigan – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team stays perfect on the weekend as they defeated Albion 25-1 on Sunday afternoon in Albion, Michigan.
The Purple Raiders (8-1) move to 3-0 against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association teams as they beat Olivet 18-1 on March 30th, and 20-2 on April 6th and defeated Albion.
Mount Union ranked first in scoring defense had another stellar outing as they allowed only one goal and three on the weekend outscoring opponents on the weekend 45-3 and 139-31 on the season.
The Raiders had ten different players score in the win over Albion led by freshman Emily Bergert (North Canton/Hoover) who tallied ten points in the victory with seven goals and three assists.
With the loss, the Britons move to 5-4 overall as their win streak stops at three games. Mount Union continues to improve and extends their win streak to eight games.
The Raiders scored 17 unanswered goals in the first half before the Britons Ashley Glenn scored with 1:06 remaining in the first half as Mount Union went into halftime with a 17-1 lead.
Mount Union shut out Albion in the second half with no shots coming from the Britons as the Raiders scored eight goals in the second half to go on to the 25-1 victory.
Mount Union travels to Waynesburg (Pa.) Saturday, April 13th at 1:00 pm.
