ALLIANCE, Ohio—Mount Union dropped a pair of non-conference games to Case Western Reserve during a non-conference doubleheader at the 23rd Street Field in Alliance.

Mount Union (9-9, 3-3 OAC) fell 8-1 in the first game and 6-3 in the second game.

In game one, Case (15-9) got off to a large lead scoring five of their eight runs in the first two innings.

Mount Union looked to rally in the bottom of the first as Olivia Schumacher (Gahanna/Gahanna Lincoln) doubled to center field then was drove in by a single from Andi Vansickle (Loudonville/Loudonville) to make the score 3-1 in the bottom of the first.

Both teams went scoreless until Case Western's, Rachel Komar got an RBI after batting in teammate Molly O'Brien in the top of the sixth.

On the mound, Michelle Stiltner (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland) took the lose giving her a record of 7-3 on the year.

Mount Union got on the board first in the second inning of game two as Callie Staggers (Newark/Licking Valley) hit a double and later scored on a Spartan field error.

Case answered with four runs in the fourth with big hit coming on a three RBI double from Rebecca Taylor to take a 4-1 lead.

Chelsea Obrzut (Round Rock, TX/Medina) hit a two-run home run in the sixth to close to 5-3 but the rally ended there.

Erin Dreger hit a home run for Case in the seventh to make the final score 6-3.

The Raiders finish off a six-game homestand Saturday at 1 pm against Heidelberg at 23rd Street Field.
