Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Mount Union's women's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to 10 games with an 18-3 win at Washington & Jefferson Tuesday in Washington, Pa.
The Purple Raiders are 10-1 overall while Washington and Jefferson remains winless on the season at 0-6.
Sophomore Kelsey Shewbridge (Medina/Medina) scored a career-high five goals, sophomore Emily Bergert (North Canton/Hoover) had five goals and an assist and sophomore Katherine Doraty (Medina/Medina) had a goal and five assists to lead Mount Union which led 14-0 at halftime.
Doraty also had four ground balls while sophomore Kolbie Haines (Hudson/Hudson) caused four turnovers.
Casey McHenry (Hudson/Hudson) and Clare Byrne (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) each split a half in goal.
Mount Union hosts Capital in the first-ever Ohio Athletic Conference women's lacrosse game Saturday at 1 pm at Mount Union.
The Ohio Athletic Conference is the third oldest conferene in college sports behind only the Big Ten and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Associaiton and is sponsoring men's and women's lacrosse for the first time since being founded in 1902.
