Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio— Mount Union's women's soccer team was handed their first loss as they fell 3-1 to Penn State-Behrend Wednesday night.
Both teams entered the game regionally ranked in the NSCAA Great Lakes Regional Rankings.
Penn State-Behrend, No. 6 in the regional poll, won its third straight and improved to 5-1 on the season while the No. 9 ranked Purple Raiders stand at 3-1 overall after the loss.
Alex Bilka, the Lions leading scorer, would put the visitors up 2-0 with goals in the eighth and 12th minutes of play as Behrend led 2-0 at the half.
Freshman Katie Goedecke (Cuyahoga Falls/Akron St.Vincent-St.Mary) cut the lead in half when she shot the ball into the upper left corner of the net in the 56th minute.
Sami Pace extended the lead to 3-1 for the Lions, who out-shot the Raiders 13-5 on the night, with an unassisted goal in the 76th minute.
Mount Union next plays Saturday, Sept. 13 at 2 pm at Allegheny in Meadville, Pa.
