Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's lacrosse team opened the 2015 season with a 17-5 win over Ohio Wesleyan Saturday at Mount Union Stadium.
Mount Union (1-0) led 2-0 when the Purple Raiders finished the first half with nine straight goals. Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Roosevelt) scored three of her game-high four goals in that opening half.
Ohio Wesleyan (0-1) got three goals and an assist from Nicole Sanczyk in the loss.
Emily Sendker (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central) also had four goals for the Raiders while Nikki Bonaduce (Kennett Square, Pa/Unionville) got four saves in goal to get the win.
Mount Union plays again at home next Wednesday, Mar. 4 against Notre Dame (Ohio) at 4 p.m.
