Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio - Mount Union's women's lacrosse team cruised to a 23-6 victory over Adrian on Friday night in Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders (5-0) were led by four goals apiece from Katherine Doraty (Medina/Medina) and Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Kent Roosevelt). Emily Bergert (North Canton/Hoover) and Michelle Tegethoff (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) added three goals each in the win.
Nikki Bonaduce (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) improved her record to 5-0 in goal for the Raiders.
Adrian (0-3) was led by TaShina Salas who scored a game-high five goals. Alison Dungey made eight saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
Adrian scored the first goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead but that would prove to be their last lead of the game. Mount Union scored the next four goals including two from Pensyl to take a 4-1 lead at the 24:23 mark of the first half.
The Raiders led 6-3 before scoring nine unanswered goals to lead 15-3 at the half.
In the second half the Raiders stretched the lead to 22-3 with seven more goals. Adrian scored three of the games last four goals to make the final count 23-6.
The women's lacrosse team will stay at home for their next game on Sunday, March 22 against Denison.
