UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio-- The University of Mount Union softball team dropped two games-- 5-4 and 9-1-- to John Carroll in an Ohio Athletic Conference double header Wednesday.

The Purple Raiders fall to 10-10 overall (3-3 OAC) as John Carroll advances to 14-6 overall (5-1 OAC).

In game one, the Raiders were unable to hold on as the game was tied in the bottom of the seventh before John Carroll hit a single up the middle sending a runner home to defeat the Raiders 5-4.

John Carroll got on the board first hitting a home run in the second inning before Mount Union rallied in the fourth scoring three runs off of sophomore Brooke Cox (Louisville/Louisville) who hit a double.

The Blue Streaks scored four more runs in the final innings ending the game 5-4.

In game two, John Carroll gained an early 3-0 lead before the Raiders capitalized on three illegal pitches earning their first run of the game.

John Carroll put the game away scoring four runs in the fourth inning defeating Mount Union 9-1 in five innings.

Mount Union looks to bounce back as the travel to Heidelberg Friday, April 3 at 1 pm in Tiffin.
