Box Score WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The No. 20 Mount Union women's lacrosse team ran their winning streak to 12 straight with a 17-5 win over Otterbein Saturday afternoon in Memorial Stadium in Westerville.
The Purple Raiders (12-0, 3-0 OAC) were led by a season-high six goals from Katherine Doraty (Medina/Medina) and four goals from Emily Sendker (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster Central).
Casey McHenry (Hudson/Hudson) made a pair of saves and caused a turnover in goal for the Raiders.
Otterbein (6-5, 1-2 OAC) was led by Tory Blatt who scored three goals while Ariel Petroval made seven saves in goal for the Cardinals.
Mount Union jumped out to an early 6-0 during the opening 8:00 minutes of the game. Blatt got Otterbein on the board but the Raiders got goals from Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Kent Rooselvelt), Doraty and Sendker to end the half leading 9-1.
Doraty started the second half with a goal but Otterbein responded with a pair of goals to make the score 10-3 with 18:47 remaining.
The Raiders then scored seven unanswered goals in the second half to push the lead to 14. Otterbein scored a pair of goals in the final 1:08 to make the final score 17-5.
The undefeated women's lacrosse team returns home on Wednesday, April 15 to play Muskingum at 7:00 pm at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.
