OBERLIN, Ohio—The Mount Union women's lacrosse team ended its two game skid with a 9-8 defeat of Oberlin College on Wednesday night.

The Purple Raiders (2-2) were led by Katherine Doraty (Medina/Medina) with a game-high four goals while four other players chipped in goals in the effort.

The Yeoman (3-1) had four players score with Sara Phister and Maggie Mullard scoring two goals each.

Mount Union took the first command of the game off a goal by Emily Bergert (North Canton/Hoover) within the first five minutes of the first half. The Raiders extend their lead, 3-1, off a goal by Marjie McNamara (Champlin, Minn. / Champlin Park) with 6:16 remaining in the half. Oberlin was able to cut the deficit down to one, 3-2, off a goal by Grace Barlow with 1:20 left in the half. Mount Union led 3-2 at the break.

Katie Elder (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) and Doraty each scored for the Raiders to begin the second half of play to extend their lead to two, 5-2., with 23:30 remaining in the game. Mount Union continued to grow its lead in the half, going up 8-4 with 10:41 remaining in the game. Oberlin surged back with two unanswered goals to chip into the lead, 8-6, with 7:18 remaining. Doraty's goal with 2:04 left in the game gave Mount Union the edge to seal the victory.

The Raiders are back in action on March 12^th as they host DePauw (Ind.). The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m.
