Box Score UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team scored a 17-7 Ohio Athletic Conference win at John Carroll Wednesday at Don Shula Stadium in University Heights.
The Purple Raiders, who improve to 9-3 overall and 3-0 in the OAC, have now won three straight and eight of their last nine games. After the loss, John Carroll is 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the OAC.
Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Roosevelt) led the Mount Union attack as she had six points with four goals and two assists. Marjie McNamara (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) also had four goals and Kolbie Haines (Hudson/Hudson) three goals for the Raiders.
The game was tied at 2-2 10 minutes into the game before Mount Union scored eight straight goals over the next nine minutes to lead 10-2. The teams exchanged goals in the final minute for an 11-3 halftime score.
Mount Union outscored John Carroll 3-1 in the first 16 minutes of the second half to start the running clock before the Blue Streaks scored a goal with 13:00 to go to make it 14-5. The Raiders put two more scores on the board to take their largest lead of the game at 16-5 with six minutes left in the game. John Carroll scored two of the final three goals in the game for the 17-7 final.
