NEW CONCORD, Ohio-  Mount Union's softball team lost a pair of games to Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader Wednesday in New Concord.

The Purple Raiders lost game one 2-0 and also lost to the Muskies in the second game, 2-0, which makes their record 21-15 overall, and 7-7 in the OAC while Muskingum is 15-19 overall and 7-7 in the OAC.

Sophomore Brittany Baitt (Painsville/Riverside) broke the school record, which was last set in 2000, for triples in a season with eight so far this year. 

Game one consisted of six scoreless innings until Muskingum took the lead in the bottom of the sixth with two runs.

The Raiders could not tie the game up in the top of the esventh and were held to two hits by the Muskies.

On the mound for the Raiders, junior Allie Scali (Parma/Parma) had three strikeouts and allowed five hits. Scali is now 10-9 on the season. 

In game two, Muskingum got the first two runs in the bottom of the second with a sinlge to center field and a throwing error from the Raiders.

Muskingum held Mount Union to three hits in the game. Three Raiders got on base in the second, fifth and sixth innings, but could not score a run losing to the Muskies 2-0. 

Senior pitcher Erin Simmons (Suffied/Field) took the loss making her record 11-4 on the season. 

The Raiders host Otterbein Saturday, April 23 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. for seniorday.
