WOOSTER, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team holds seventh place with a score of 179 after the ten events on Thursday at the Wooster Invitational in the Timken Natatorium.
Senior Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.00 to lead the Purple Raiders on day one.
The 400 yard medley team of juniors Sarah Gonda (Boardman/Boardman) and Regina Saxon (Hudson/Hudson) along with seniors Lautenschleger and Jessica Hirsh (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) combined for a time of 4:06.56 for an eighth place finish.
The 200 freestyle relay team of seniors Jenna Kassinger (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls) and Ann Zielasko (Silverlake/Hoban) along with sophomores Elise Pichola (Rocky River/Rocky River) and Erin Bain (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) finished 11th with a time of 1:41.15.
Day two of the Wooster Invitational begins Friday morning with preliminaries at 10 a.m. with finals coming at 6 p.m.
