ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's lacrosse team was dropped by Denison in a non-conference home game Tuesday evening at Mount Union Stadium, 15-7. 

Mount Union (5-2, 1-0 OAC) was led by sophomore Alyssa Rydell (Medina/Medina), who scored three goals in the contest. 

Denison's (5-3) Maddy Heher led the Big Red with three goals. 

Denison got on the board just under three minutes into the first half and scored five additional unanswered goals to lead the Raiders 6-0 with 13:19 remaining. Freshman Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md./Sherwood) cut Denison's lead to five after receiving a pass from sophomore Ashley Bernardi (Medina/Medina) and firing the ball into the back of the Big Red's goal. Denison recorded one more goal before Bernardi and Rydell each scored to trail Denison 7-3.

Junior Katie Elder (Champlin, Minn./Champlin) scored Mount Union's final goal of the half with 2:23 on the clock, but the Raiders trailed Denison 10-4 at the break.

The Big Red opened the second half by scoring a goal 24 seconds into play. Elder responded with her second goal of the game just over four minutes later to cut Denison's lead to six, 11-5, but Denison responded with two goals. Rydell scored back-to-back goals to again bring Mount Union within six. 

Two more goals by Denison in the half had Mount Union trailing by eight, 15-7, which ultimately resulted in the loss for the Raiders. 

Mount Union next hosts Oberlin on Thursday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. in a non-conference match-up at Mount Union Stadium.
