Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Freshman Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md./Sherwood) recorded a career-high four points in the Mount Union women's lacrosse team's 18-5 home loss to Dickinson College (Pa.) at Mount Union Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Rohrman led the Purple Raiders (1-1) with three goals and one assist, while Anne Dunster led the Red Devils (1-2) with five goals.
Dickinson opened play with a 5-0 scoring run before Rohrman fired a shot into the back of the Red Devils' goal to get the Raiders on the board at the 16:58 mark of the first half. Dickinson scored less than a minute later in a man-up situation to make the score 6-1.
Rohrman recorded her second goal of the game with just over 14 minutes left in the half after sophomore Ashley Bernardi (Medina/Medina) fed her the ball in the eight meter arc and she slipped the ball past Dickinson's goalie to cut the lead to four, 6-2. Dickinson scored five unanswered goals to lead Mount Union 11-2 at the break.
An opening save by senior Nikki Bonaduce (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) resulted in a clear to Rohrman in the opening minute of the second half. Rohrman advanced the ball up field to freshman Mackenzie Pensyl (Kent/Roosevelt), who notched a goal to tally her first collegiate point with 28:49 left to play. The Red Devils recorded two more goals before sophomore Alyssa Rydell (Medina/Medina) recorded the Raiders' fourth goal to make the score 13-4.
Dickinson responded with a three-goal run to lead the Raiders 16-4 with 12:18 on the clock. Rohrman struck again with just under ten minutes remaining, but two additional goals by the Red Devils resulted in an 18-5 loss for the Raiders. Bonaduce faced 29 shots in the game, recording 11 saves.
Mount Union hosts DePauw (Ind.) on Saturday, March 11 at 1 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
