Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team ran its record to 6-0 to start the season after a 19-6 win over Wittenberg Tuesday at Mount Union Stadium.
Ashley Bernardi (Media) had six goals and three assists, Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) had five goals and Marjie McNamara (Champlin, Minn. / Champlin Park) had three goals to pace the Purple Raiders offense.
Emily Wadds had two goals for Wittenberg (2-5).
The Raiders opened the game with five straight goals -- two by McNamara -- in the first 5:16 to take control early. Wittenberg scored back to back goals before Mount Union put four more on the board – two from Rohrman, one from McNamara and another from Kenzie Pensyl (Kent/Roosevelt) that made the score 9-2 with just under 15 minutes left in the half.
Mount Union finished the half scoring five of the next seven goals -- three of which came from Bernardi -- and the Raiders led 14-4 at the half.
Mount Union outscored Wittenberg 5-2 in the second half for the 19-6 final.
The Raiders stay home to open Ohio Athletic Conference play Saturday at 1 p.m. against Wilmington at Mount Union Stadium.
