Men's Track and Field: #3 Mount Union Posts Five NCAA Provisional Marks at Homon Open

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Five NCAA provisional marks headlined the day for the No. 3 ranked Mount Union men's track and field team Saturday at the John Homon Open at Mount Union Stadium.

The Purple Raiders claimed the top four spots in the 400 meters as the top two finishers -- juniors James Roth (Massillon / Perry) and AJ Digby (Tontogany / Otsego) -- posted the second and ninth-best marks nationally at 47.88 and 48.72.

Sophomore Evan Hershberger (Dalton) won the high jump with a mark of 6-feet, 8-inches which is ranked sixth nationally.

Senior Lucas Cooper (Hanoverton / United Local) won the discus with a mark of 164-feet which currently stands fifth nationally.

Senior Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek / Garaway) posted the nation's third best time in the 400-meter hurdles placing second with a time of 53.46.

Sophomore Cody Fitzwater (Dalton) also got a win for the Raiders in the triple jump with a mark of 41-feet, 2.25-inches.

Mount Union will compete next Saturday at the Walsh Invitational in North Canton, Ohio.
