Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's volleyball team defeated the Geneva Golden Tornadoes 3-1 at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex Wednesday evening.
The Purple Raiders are now 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League, while Geneva falls to 2-4, 0-0.
The Raiders dropped in the first set 25-18 and rallied back in the remaining three sets 25-20, 25-22, and 25-17 to secure the win.
The Raiders were led offensively by sophomore Cameron Ternent (Canal Fulton / Massillon Jackson) who had 11 kills and 6 total blocks, senior Justin Sibbel (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) who had 13 kills on the night, and freshman Jacob Yarosh (Mapleton) who had 20 assists. Collectively the Raiders picked up 13 total blocks on the night, seven of those coming assisted. On the defensive end, junior Steven Grenier (Hawthorn Woods, Ill. / Lake Zurich) led the way with 13 digs.
Mount Union will travel to Crawfordsville, Ind. for a doubleheader against Wabash on Saturday, Feb. 27 with matches slated to begin at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
