Box Score 2 CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Mount Union men's volleyball team (7-2, 4-2 MCVL) improve their win streak to four as they swept Wabash (2-7, 2-7 MCVL) in a doubleheader Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League match up at Chadwick Court Saturday afternoon.
First Match
The Purple Raiders were led by senior Justin Sibbel (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) with 18 kills and 10 digs as well as sophomore Dakota Hrabowy (Hubbard / Thunderbird Adventist Academy (Ariz.)) who had 31 assists and two service aces. The Raiders kept close in the first set by taking the win 25-23 and took advantage of their offense securing the remaining two sets 25-16 and 25-13.
Second Match
The Raiders picked right back off where they started in the first match with another sweep in three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-11, 25-11. Sophomore Cameron Ternent (Canal Fulton / Massillon Jackson) led the second match with 14 kills followed by Sibbel who had 12. Dawson continued his day of assists by taking on 35 in the match. Defensively, freshman Jakob Yarosh (Mapleton) collected eight digs followed by junior libero Steven Griener (Hawthorn Woods, Ill. / Lake Zurich) with seven.
Mount Union returns home for a makeup match again Mount Vernon Nazarene slated for Wednesday, March 3 at 7 pm in Timken Gymnasium.
