Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio –Mount Union's women soccer team defeated Muskingum 3-1 Thursday night in Ohio Athletic Conference play at Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders (1-2-1) scored the first and only goal in the first half from freshman Kaylonnie Jones (Chula Vist, Calif. / Bonita Vista) on an assist from sophomore Andrea Decker (Hillard / Hillard Bradley) in the 31st minute.
Muskingum (0-3) got the first goal of the second half at the 61st minutes by Jenna Jordan.
Mount Union responded with two goals within two minutes of each other. The first goal was on a corner piece hit in the box by freshman Kaela Turle (Twinsburg) and scored by freshman Paige Wilson (Leavittsburg / LaBrae) in the 79th minute.
Decker scored the second one in the 81st minute to put the Purple Raiders up 3-1.
Freshman goalkeeper Claudia Wilson (Vermillion) picked up her first career win with five saves on the night.
The Purple Raiders outshot Muskingum 28-9.
Mount Union stays at home to take on Capital on Sunday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m. in Alliance.
