ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's lacrosse team defeated Ohio Northern 20-8 in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday at Mount Union Stadium.

Mount Union (9-1, 9-1 OAC) was led by Katie Clark (Cuyahoga Falls / Walsh Jesuit) who scored six goals and had two assists and Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calif.) scoring five goals.

Mount Union got three goals from Sam Karr (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter), two goals from Julia Bates (East Lyme, Conn.) who had two assist and Kaitlyn Murphy (Lexington, Va. / Rockbridge County) who had one assist, Mackenzie Lewis (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) and Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) scored one goal and had one assist each.

Emma Perry and Meredith Miller each had two goals for Ohio Northern (4-7, 4-7 OAC).

Mount Union scored the first seven goals of the game within the first 3:42. Ohio Northern grabbed a goal before another 6-0 run by Mount Union pushed the lead out to 13-1.

The final 8:26 of the first half saw both teams score two goals to take a lead into the half for Mount Union 15-3.

The second half saw both teams score five goals with both teams having a 3-0 run at one point during the second half.

Molly McGinnis (Brunswick) had five saves to move to 9-1 in goal on the season.

Mount Union next hosts Muskingum in an OAC game Wednesday, April 7th at 7 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
