Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team improved to 10-1 overall and 10-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play beating Muskingum xx-xx on Wednesday night at Mount Union Stadium.
Nine different players scored as the Purple Raiders were led by four goals from senior Kaitlyn Murphy (Lexington, Va. / Rockbridge County) and junior Mackenzie Lewis (Hudson Walsh Jesuit).
Junior Kaylin Kostic (Latrobe, Pa. / Latrobe), sophomore Sam Karr (Newark, Del.Newark Charter), freshmen Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston), Emily Nannarone (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) scored two each. Sophomore Madeline McCrackin (Kings Mill) and freshman Tara Santoro (Canfield) scored two each their first of the season.
Sophomore Julia Bates (East lyme, Conn. / East Lyme) and freshman Katie Clark (Cuyahoga Falls / Walsh Jesuit) finished the scoring with one goal each.
Muskingum, which got a goal from Raiyah Johnson and Paige Hannum, fell to 1-8 overall and 1-8 in the OAC.
Lewis scored the first goal of the night in just 12 seconds the fourth fastest time in Mount Union history. She then scored the next goal as well with assists from Clark and Murphy.
Muskingum grabbed a goal to bring the score to 2-1.
Mount Union proceeded to score the next 14 goals with all nine scorers putting the ball in the back of the net.
The scoring started with Murphy scoring twice and Clark scoring as well as assisting one of the goals.
Karr scored the next two goals for Mount Union to go up 7-1 just 5:13 seconds into the game Bates along with Clark assisted on the goal.
Bates had another assist this time connecting with Lewis for the goal.
Mount Union got two more goals from Murphy and a goal from Bates to go up 11-1 eight minutes into play.
A goal from Kesler was unassisted and then McCrackin got her first goal of her career with an assist from Lewis.
The Raiders got a goal from Kesler, Nannarone and then Santoro scored her first of her career.
Muskingum got it's second goal of the night with Mount Union taking a 16-2 lead into halftime.
Mount Union outscored Muskingum 6-0 in the second half with two goals from Kostic and a goal a piece from Nannarone, Lewis, McCrackin, and Santoro to end the game.
Molly McGinnis (Brunswick) had three saves playing in the first half in goal for the Raiders.
Mount Union next plays at Heidelberg Saturday, April 10th at 1 p.m. in Tiffin.
