SPRINGFIELD, Ohio. – The Mount Union men's track and field team won six events at the Stemmer Showcase Saturday afternoon placing five top 15 marks in the NCAA Division III.
Junior
Matthew McBride (Conneaut) grabbed a victory in the 400-meters with a time of 48.62 which currently sits second in NCAA Division III.
McBride teamed up with senior
Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds), junior
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak) and freshman Haden Gibson (Brookfield) finished the night off with a victory in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:16.92 which will convert to the second fastest time in Division III currently.
The men's mile saw sophomores
Mason Kutz (Dalton) and
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) finish third and fourth with times of 4:13.36 and 4:14.45 sitting in 10th and 13th in NCAA Division III.
Giumenti and Kutz teamed up in the 1,000-meters as Giumenti pulled off the victory in a time of 2:31.98 while Kutz took second with a 2:36.11.
The 500-meters saw the first five spots go to the Raiders as senior
Dylon Campbell (Cuyahoga Falls) won with a time of 1:07.51 while junior
Josh Momeyer (Livonia, Mi. / Churchill) and freshman
Aidan Schaffer (Heath) finished second and third.
Junior
Kyel Wolff (Cleveland / Cuyahoga Heights) won the pole vault with a height of 16-feet .5-inches.
Senior
Tanner Slack (New Concord / John Glenn) tied his season best with a jump of 6-feet 8-inches to finish third in high jump and sit tied for seventh in Division III.
The Raiders host next Saturday, February 5th with the Jim Wuske Invitational.
