EAST LANSING, Michigan -- Mount Union's men cross country team placed 31st at the 2022 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships Saturday afternoon at Forest Akers Golf Club.
 
The Purple Raiders were led by the junior Vincent Giumenti (Dover) who finished 69th with a time of 25:55.7.
 
Seniors Hunter Probert (Gnadenhutten / Indian Valley) was by himself scoring second on the team in 192nd.
 
Senior Jeff Joseph (Beloit / West Branch) and Forrest Long (Geneva) finished 252nd and 260th with times of 27:09.8 and 27:16.8. Rounding out the scoring in 263rd with a time of 27:21.0 was freshman Stephen Ulrich (Louisville).
 
Junior Mason Kutz (Dalton) and sophomore Nick Wong (Akron / Hoban) competed as well finishing 264th and 281st with times 27:28.8 and 27:58.7.
 
Mount Union totaled 780 points while MIT won the meet with 82 points followed by Wartburg in second with 129 points.
