ALLIANCE, Ohio. – The Mount Union men's track and field team won 10 events at the Jim Wuske Invitational Saturday afternoon while also dropping the fastest time in NCAA Division III this year so far in the Distance Medley Relay Saturday at Ashland University.
The Purple Raiders sent a quartet consisting of senior
Alex Bryan (Geneva) and sophomores Curt Joppeck (New London),
Mason Kutz (Dalton) and
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) posting an NCAA Division III leading time of 9:59.81.
Junior
Jared Storm (Barberton) won the 400-meters running the second fastest time in NCAA Division III with a 49.00.
Seniors
Evan Hershberger (Dalton) and
Tanner Slack (New Concord / John Glenn) both jumped 6-feet 7-inches good for the win and currently sits 14th in the Division III.
Hershberger and freshman
Jahdon Wimbush finished first and second in the long jump with leaps of 22-feet 4.5-inches and 20-feet 11.75-inches.
Junior
Kyel Wolff (Cleveland / Cuyahoga Heights) pole vaulted to a victory with a jumof of 15-feet 9.25-inches.
Seniors
Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds),
Zack Munchick (Lodi / Cloverleaf) along with junior
Josh Momeyer (Livonia, Mi. / Churchill) and freshman Haden Gibson (Brookfield) won the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:31.45.
Gill and Gibson came back in the 200-meters to finish first and second overall with times of 22.73 and 22.97.
Senior
Carson Troyer (Sugarcreek / Garaway) picked up the victory in the 60-meter hurdles (8.46) while sophomore
Dominic Deshuk (Amherst) finished second (8.67).
In the 60-meters freshman Aiden Malloy (League City, Tx. / Clear Springs) and senior
Brandon Ransom (Lewis Center / Olentangy Orange) finished first and second with times of 7.08 and 7.13.
Juniors
Matthew McBride (Conneaut) and
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak) grabbed first and second in the 500-meters with times of 1:05.83 and 1:05.84.
Freshman
Jonah Bacho (Boardman) won the shot put with a throw of 46-feet 11.75-inches.
The Raiders head to Westerville, Oh. Saturday, February 12th to compete in the All-Ohio Championships.
