WILMINGTON, Ohio- Mount Union's
Kevin Lucas is named to Wilmington College's Athletic Hall of Fame Tuesday afternoon.

Lucas is one of five individuals that will be celebrated by the College on September 23rd as part of its homecoming weekend.

Lucas competed for the Quakers from 1998 to 2001 and was a 15-time All-Conference honoree and All-American. He was a two-time champion in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes as well as the 4x400-meter relay in the Heartland conference before Wilmington made the move to the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). From there Lucas set the then Indoor OAC record with a time of 49.31 seconds.

Lucas earned All-American honors by crossing the finish line in fifth in the 4x400-meter relay at the 2001 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

From then to now Lucas made stops at the Universities of Heidelberg and Salisbury before coming to Mount Union. At Mount Union he has coached three National Championship teams with two indoor titles in 2014 and 2018 and an outdoor title in 2018. Lucas has led the men's program to 21 straight OAC titles between the indoor and outdoor championships and has collected 23 OAC championship trophies and picked up three OAC cross country titles as well.

On the women's side he led the ladies to their highest performance in both the indoor and outdoor NCAA Championships with a fifth-place finish in 2023 for indoor and a third place finish in 2012 for outdoor. He has coached four straight trophies with 18 OAC championship trophies for track and field and picked up a OAC cross country title as well.
