GENESEO, New York—The No. 28 nationally ranked Mount Union men's cross country team finished sixth overall at the 43
rd Annual Mike Woods Geneseo XC Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Senior
Alex Reese (Geneva) led the way for the Purple Raiders with a 25
th place finish in a time of 25:03.9.
A trio of Mount Union runners finished together at juniors
Stephen Ulrich (Louisville) (51
st),
Jake Parkhurst (Medina) (58
th) and senior
Nick Wong (Akron / Hoban) (59
th) all finished within six seconds of each other as Ulrich had 25:26.6, Parkhurst at 25:32.3 and Wong at 25:32.5.
Sophomore
Liam Blake (Alliance / Marlington) rounded out the scoring with a 72
nd place finish in a time of 25:42.8.
Freshman
Jake Kapper (Bolivar / Tuscarawas) and senior
Curtis Joppeck (New London) rounded out the top seven with placings of 137
th and 140
th running 26:32.2 and 26:34.8.
Mount Union finished with 236 points just 31 behind No. 30-ranked Moravian in fifth as host No. 8-ranked SUNY Geneseo won the meet with 41 total points.
Mount Union now will now get ready for the Ohio Athletic Conference championships on November 2
nd in Tiffin, Ohio.
