NORTON, Ohio—The Mount Union men's cross country team took to the Silver Creek Metro Park course on a hot and muggy Friday afternoon to kick off the cross country season.
Stephen Ulrich (Louisville) finished 23rd overall in a time of 19:09.1 and led Mount Union to a 6th place team finish against a field of all Division I teams in a 6k course.
Alex Reese (Geneva) and
Liam Blake (Alliance / Marlington) finished together in 37th and 41st with times of 19:27.3 and 19:31.7.
Rounding out the scoring was Matthew Tschantz (Canton / GlenOak) and
Curtis Joppeck (New London) took 51st and 59th overall with time of 19:50.6 and 20:00.8.
Jason Hammar (Canfield) and
Jake Kapper (Mineral City / Tuscarawas Valley) took 60th and 61st to round out the top seven for Mount Union.
The Raiders will next take to the course on Saturday, September 14th at the RMU Colonial Invite in Clinton, Pa.
