DESTIN, Fla. – Mount Union's men's golf team finished in 24
th place after the first round of the Golfweek Classic at Sandestin Beach Resort on Sunday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 323, which is just three shots back of 23
rd place DePauw. Southwestern leads the event with a team score of 285.
Junior
Brian Myers (Wadsworth) led the way for Mount Union by shooting a 75, while freshman
Austin Wilhoit (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) carded an 82. Sophomores
Jax Rogers (Jeromesville / Hillsdale) and
Caden Buxton (West Middlesex, Pa.) rounded out the Raiders team score with a pair of 83s.
The Raiders are in action again on Monday for the second round of the Golfweek Classic and will also have a team competing in the Golden Flash Invitational on
Monday at the Country Club of Hudson.
