Women's Swimming: Raiders Third After Day One at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team finished in third place after the first day of the Wooster Invitational on Thursday evening.

The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 370 which is just 24 points behind second place Frostburg State. Wooster leads the event with a team score of 411.

Top Finishers
  • 200-yard freestyle relay: team consisting of senior Isabelle Parr (Brunswick), freshman AJ Sliman (Amherst / Marion L. Steele), freshman Chloe Parr (Brunswick) and senior Abby Calaway (Berea / Berea-Midpark) won the event with a time of 1:40.02
  • 200-yard individual medley: sophomore Riley McCombs (New Middletown / Springfield Local) finished third with a time of 2:13.48
  • 50-yard freestyle: Parr, I. finished third with a time of 24.28
  • 400-yard medley relay: team consisting of Sliman, McCombs, Parr, I., and freshman Rydell Reif (Buffalo, N.Y. / Sweet Home) finished in fourth place with a time of 4:09.35

The Raiders are back in action again tomorrow for the second day of the Wooster Invitational at Wooster High School with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. followed by diving at 2 p.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
