WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Mount Union senior Frank Washburn (Columbia Station / Columbia) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week (10/5).

Washburn was a key part of the Purple Raider defense that held opponents to just nine shots, five on goal, in a week where they went 2-0. Washburn also came up to score a goal in Wednesday night's 5-0 win over La Roche and then he had an assist on the first goal of the game in the Raiders' 2-0 win over Otterbein on Saturday.

This is the first time this season and in his career that Washburn has won the award.
