WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team was picked third in the Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The Purple Raiders come off a season where they finished 13-3-4 overall and 5-1-2 in OAC play, where they qualified of the OAC Tournament for the fourth consecutive season and made it at leas the semifinals for the third straight season.
Mount Union returns a trio of First Team All-OAC selections from last season, including the reigning OAC Defender of the Year and Second Team All-American in senior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington), along with junior
Amir Spratt (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) and senior
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North).
The Raiders open their season on the road when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. on Tuesday, September 1 to take on non-conference opponent Chatham at 7 p.m. and then will host Hiram in their home opener on Saturday, September 5 at 1 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
