Mount Union's baseball team (5-10) fell 8-4 to visiting Ohio
Wesleyan (8-7) on Thursday, March 29 at 23rd Street Field in
Alliance, Ohio.
The game was tied at four a piece before the Bishops struck for
four runs in the eighth inning.
Brett Thomas (0-4) started and took the loss for Mount Union
despite tossing 7.1 innings and striking out a career-high eight
batters. Ohio Wesleyan's Sean Speed picked up the win in
relief.
Offensively, the Purple Raiders were led by third baseman Nate
McFarland, who was 3-for-4 with an RBI and leftfielder Andy Warner,
who went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs batted in.
The Bishops were paced by a 5-for-5 effort from Logan Hronis.
Jerrell Johnson aided the effort going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
The Raiders get back into conference play on Saturday, March 31
against Heidelberg. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in
Alliance, Ohio.
