DELAWARE, Ohio -- Mount Union won its second straight men's track and field team title at the All-Ohio Championships at Selby Stadium at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders tallied 98 points which was 23 ahead of second place Baldwin Wallace.  

Mount Union won two events and a had a number of strong performances.

Sophomores Tyler Mettille (Canfield/Canfield) and Chase Swisher (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) led the way for the Purple Raiders.

Mettille and Swisher along with junior Bryan Whitlock (Rochester, N.Y./School of the Arts) and senior Ryan Kohler (Minerva/Minerva) also won the 4x100 relay with a time of 42.01.

Mettille also won the 400 hurdles with a new meet record time of 52.68 which bested the previous record of 52.98 set by current Mount Union hurdles coach Cory Beebe when he ran at Heidelberg.

He also finished second in the javelin throw with a mark of 183-3.

Along with the relay win, Swisher also had a pair of third place finishes in the 100 meters (11.08) and long jump (21-10).

Mount Union returns home Thursday evening to host the Stark County Challenge at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.
