#25 Men's Track & Field Wins Six Events at Homon Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- No. 25 ranked Mount Union men's track and field team won six events at the John Homon Invitational at Mount Union Stadium.

The men's 4x400 meter relay team of sophomore Tyler Mettille (Canfield/Canfield), senior Ryan Kohler (Minerva/Minerva) with freshmen Tyler Sparks (Norwalk/Norwalk) and Chad Gentry (Louisville/Louisville) ran the fifth best time in NCAA Division III so far this season winning the event with a time of 3:18.59.

Gentry also ran to a win in the 400 meters with a time of 49.33.

Fellow freshman Andrew Milhoan (East Sparta/Sandy Valley) won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.58 while junior Brandon Campbell (Stahlstown, Pa./Ligonier Valley) won the javelin (166-08).  

Sophomore  Mitchell Kalning (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) won the pole vault and set a personal best and posted the ninth best mark in NCAA Division III so far this season as he won the pole vault with a mark of 15-4.25.

Mount Union competes next week at the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware.
