ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's lacrosse used an 11-0 run to fly past the Eagles of Edgewood Saturday afternoon defeating them 18-5.
The Purple Raiders (3-3) were led by
Eli Ciotti who had six goals on the day while
Liam Erwin picked up six points scoring three goals and having three assists.
Mark Zusman and
Grant Dunmire also had multiple goals with Zusman finishing with three and two for Dunmire.
Dane Matuscin finished with six ground balls while
Axel Magarrell led the team in caused turnovers with three.
Logan Gunderman finished the day making five saves and allowing just five goals.
Edgewood (3-1) was led by Avery Bugaj with two goals while Luke Quakenbush finished with 21 saves.
Edgewood got out to a quick 3-1 lead just six minutes into the game. Ciotti got his first goal of the game with just 3 seconds remaining in the quarter to trail 3-2.
Mount Union then proceeded to score six goals in the second quarter as Ciotti, Dunmire, and Zusman each had two goals.
Mount Union kept the moment in the second half outscoring Edgewood 10-2 over the final two quarters and picking up the victory.
Mount Union will now welcome Wooster to Alliance on Wednesday in the last non conference matchup at 7 p.m.
