AUSTIN, Texas – Mount Union junior
Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover) was named second team 2022-23 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division III Women's Track and Field/Cross country Team selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Roncone, an exercise science major with a 4.0 grade-point average from North Canton, Ohio earns her first Academic All-American award.
Roncone was apart of the 4x100-Meter relay team this year that earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish.
Roncone has four total All-American honors with a fourth place finish in the long jump in 2022 for indoor, and two sixth places with one in 2021 on the 4x100-Meter relay and the other in the long jump in 2022.
Roncone has also won six OAC Team Titles and won four OAC events in her career.
She is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree as well as a two-time United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic award winner.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director.
Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
