ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's wrestling team won 30-20 over NAIA Rio Grande in its home opener on Friday.

The Raiders were down 15-0 before scoring 20 straight points to take the lead. The Red Storm tied it at 20 before Mount Union freshman Lori Grimes (Marysville) won by pin over Jasmin Calix at 180. Junior Lyndsee Young (Madison Comprehensive) finished the scoring with a forfeit win at 207.

Grimes's pin was one of three by the Raiders, as freshman Abigail Mozden (Alliance) won at 131 and Addison Lyon (Marysville) at 138 also won by pin. Additionally, sophomore Karlie Stith (Salem) won by a technical fall at 145.

Mount Union will next compete at the John Carroll Round Robin Duals on Sunday, November 23.
