CORALVILLE, Iowa – Mount Union women's wrestling freshman
Abigail Mozden (Alliance, OH / Alliance) made history on Friday, advancing to the semifinals of the inaugural 2026 NCAA Women's Wrestling Championship.
Mozden, currently ranked fifth across all divisions, started the day defeating NCAA Division II Piper Cadden out of Chadron State, 8-2. Then finished the night with a Hollywood ending, down 7-4 to No. 4 nationally ranked Karlee Brooks out of NCAA Division I Iowa and winning in dramatic fashion as she pinned Brooks for the win.
Mozden will be competing against No. 1-ranked and defending champion Division II McKendree's Cameron Guerin tomorrow in the NCAA Semifinals at 10 a.m. on ESPN+. Mozden has already secured All-American status, the first in program history.
Mount Union, under the guidance of second-year head coach
Clay Wenger, is only in its second season as a program.
