CLEVELAND, Ohio – Graduate Mount Union women's lacrosse player Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) was named the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year, presented by H. Jack's Plumbing & Heating Co. "The Super Plumbers!" at the 26th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards at Rocket Arena.

This annual event celebrates and honors the athletic achievements of Northeast Ohio, from high school standouts and inspiring community stories to professional athletes. Additionally, Mount Union senior All-American guard Giovanni Kennedy (Avon, OH/St. Edward) was a nominee for Male Collegiate Athlete of the Year.

Clark completed her historic career at Mount Union by being named USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American, the first in Mount Union history, and was named Great Lakes First Team All-Region and OAC Offensive Player of the Year for the third straight year. She led the team with 43 goals, 77 assists, and 120 points and finished as the career leader in points (459), assists (233), and goals (226), as well as holding the single-season and single-game assists records. Clark ranked second in Division III in assists per game (4.0) and was voted First Team All-OAC.

A three-time First Team All-OAC honoree, Kennedy has earned numerous athletic All-American honors during his junior and senior campaigns. He played in two Stagg Bowls,

including as a starter in 2024. Kennedy became the first Mount Union football player to earn First Team Academic All-America® since 2020, making him only the second Purple Raider guard to receive this prestigious honor and the first in over 40 years.
